The Folk Dance group at Liberty Center is led by Lina Tsao and instructed by Susan Chang, offering a vibrant exploration of traditional Chinese folk dances from various ethnic groups. This class is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of these dances while promoting physical and mental well-being. Each session begins with a warm-up that focuses on stretching and loosening stiff muscles, ensuring that students are prepared for the movements ahead. Susan emphasizes proper technique and placement throughout the instruction to help prevent injuries, making it accessible for dancers of all skill levels. With extensive experience teaching traditional Chinese folk dances through the SCA, Susan has successfully showcased her students at CHC events. By participating in this Folk Dance group, individuals not only learn beautiful cultural expressions but also cultivate their overall well-being enhancing both body coordination and mental clarity through rhythmic movement and communal engagement.
